Warhammer Mark of Chaos is still the "current gen" benchmark for Table Top to Computer conversion accuracy. Sorta like the TT game where Ranged is the space marines biggest strength.Īgreed, that while the RPG elements are kinda fun, it takes a bit away from the Warhammer 40k TT experience. Although I've heard that Primarch difficult it's best to use Cyris and a lot of ranged DPS. Well now that I've had more time to play.ĭon't worry about having a "need" for a certain unit, you can finish the game with basically any unit combo. Can't really argue with the dreddys assualt cannon barrage either. My favourite unit so far is the tactical squad with terminator armour, heavy flamer and cyclone missile launcher. Those are really my only complaints, can't deny the game is a lot of fun. I also think they could have done more to make your spare squads important, I haven't used two of my squads for ages as I got comfortable with my main setup.

It can get frustrating when you lose flow a little and start hitting the wrong hotkeys (the worst is hitting the flee key when you wanted to melee), especially when your squad load-out has changed, or when your guys ignore your commands because they got stuck on a bit of terrain or are just feeling a little prickish or something. Why is an ork dropping magical power armour of awesomeness +10? Terrible. I don't miss the base building at all, it's feels much more w40k this way IMO being a table top fan (agreeing with Silent_Buddha here from the other thread), but I don't really think it needs the standard action RPG trappings like bosses and whatnot either.

A mission-based, squad-based action RPG is a good spin on things though. Relic said they were fishing for a larger audience, and so we basically have something that's much more action RPG IMO. The game is pure masterbation though, there isn't really much to it (at least in singleplayer). Not sure why feedback on this is hiding in the 'what are you playing now' thread, this game deserves it's own thread surely?
